Default Install from backup

I have 'messed up' my TomTom 910, I believe the easiest thing to do to get me out of trouble will be to revert to a backup I have.

This backup is a direct copy of the 910 using the copy procedure with my PC, not using TomTom Home, the question is, do I 'delete' everything from the 910 before copying over the backup or do I just over write?

I would think the over write will leave bits & pieces behind that might cause problems again.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Just had a thought, there are about 4 books on the 910, could I delete them from the backup before copying everything over?
This would make the 910 tidier when the backup is being completed rather deleting them from the 910 after backingup, if you see what I mean.

I would check your backup is in order, a full 910 backup will be around 7GB in size without any mp3 or audio books.
Format the 910 by right clicking the drive letter when viewed in Windows Explorer, select Format from the list. Don't use Quick format, just leave the device to wipe the drive (make sure the power lead is plugged in to the TomTom desk dock and working!)
Once the 910 is empty copy your backup to the device, its up to you whether to bother with the audio books, if you no longer use them on the device simply remove them from your backup prior to copying everything to the TomTom - Mike

Brilliant, thank you Mike, just what I was thinking, just needed conformation before taking the plunge.
