Insert a thin piece of card between the screen and the bezel, run this around the whole edge of the screen to dig out any dirt lodged in the gap, once you have done this a few times the device should behave properly. It is possible to remove the screen surround panel but its quite difficult so I would try the thin card trick first before you start looking at stripping down the device - Mike

Just try the thin card trick to dig out the debri and the device will be fine, stripping the screen surround off the device is quite an involved process and shouldn't be needed in 99% of cases as the card will dig the dirt out making the screen work correctly - Mike
