can't update my maps

hi there
first time for me, i will need alot of help please. tried to update my tomtom go 300 maps but keep getting the message "the internet sever had an internal error. it may be a temporary problem. please try again later"

Is your PC connected directly to the internet via a cable as WiFi connections are know to be problematic? - Mike

1/ Make a full back up of the device using Windows Explorer

2/ Download and install the latest version of TomTom Home software to your PC (its free from the TT web site)

3/ Use Home to update the software by clicking the "Update my device" button.

4/ Next purchase and download your map, if you have already done this its possible to install the map without using Home but you need to make sure the map has downloaded first - I am not too sure at what part of the update process your unit is falling over.

Only try the above with a direct wired connection to the internet as WiFi is known to cause issues - Mike

i have done the first three steps you said but when trying the fourth step it wont even let me purchase before it gives me the error messege

I would try again Monday just in case there is an issue with the server at TomTom although I don't think there is as I haven't seen any other posts about map purchase issues all weekend.

If it still doesn't work in the morning give TomTom a ring on 0845 161 0009 - Mike
