Well after looking hard into all these gps in car systems pda's and stuff i finally bought myself a early xmas pressie a tom tom go perhaps i'll refraze that tom tom NOT

It is sat on the table in all it's splender fully charged, but has it got a sat lock has it not

went over and over the booklet followed the instructions to the letter even downloaded the sept upgrade, sat link nope!

Ok perhaps it dont work in the house walls and all that so i stick it in the car and drive 40 miles around bristol up hill and down dale did i get a lock NOPE

Back to the booklet Ah! perhaps you need to register to make it work so of to the web site and after 40mins of the most annoying hard to navigate site i get it done yippee

have i got a lock NOPE

As i write this the gps signal was lost 9 hours ago ! have the satalites fell out the sky !!!!

So me thinks i got a duffer!

i email eventually the no help desk who say try it during the day (some foreign geezer) so i conclude they dont work at night !!

As to there claim works out the box dont you believe it !!!!

This un's going back as it's beat me mind you it's kept perfect time

Now were's the map book for tomorrow

Welcome to our forums and sorry to hear you have had problems.
Did you notice the label on the box saying it may not work in your car if you have an athermic coating (heat reflective) on your windscreen? Which make and model of car do you drive? Try it outside in case this is the cause.

As to their claims it works out the box....has in my experience.

HAve to agree with charlie the best way i find (using tomtom bluetooth kit) is drive somewhere in the open and put the receiver on the roof of the car and see if you get connnection, Has you got the go version just put the whole lot on top of the car and wait see if you get a fix if you dont then i would say there a problem.
