Steve Walsh | When calculating the route the software will start at one end of the journey and find it's way to the other end keeping to the perameters that you have selected. At each junction it has multiple options and will weigh things up and choose one (though this may turn out to be not ideal 200 miles down the road). On a long journey there will be dozens of possible routes and for the software to find the best one without taking too much time to do it is not always possible. The fact that these 'anomolies' are quite rare and the first option is usually the best, shows just how good the calculating routine in the software is. |
