Question Upgrading SD memory card

Hi,

I just got a TTG and would like to upgrade the SD card to a larger one.

A couple of Q's about this:

1 - Do I have to buy a TT branded SD card, or will any do (save some money!)

2 - Is it just a case of installing the files via USB to populate the SD card?

Thanks in advance.

J

Welcome to our forums.
1) No, you can use just about any brand.
2) You can copy the contents of your original card to the new one or you can use the TTGO CD to install the program and then the maps.

Could you please help me. I have just removed the foreign voices to install the speed camera detectors and now everytime i put in the sd card it shows you a red cross and wont accept the card. Any sort of suggestion would be appreciated.

I just read the other users problem, and I have the same,(nearly the same), as mine.
I have tha TTG, 2nd 512mb SD card, and 'VIVANCO' high speed USB 2.0 - 12 in 1.
I want to add 'speed cameras', and update maps when necessary.
The same problem, red cross showing that the card is not sucessful. Have I connected
it the right way? They do not sent any instructions to tell you what is the procedure and how to swrite/read the card. many thanks

Hi, I've copied the contents of my old card onto the new card but when I turn on the TTG it says "no maps found". Any ideas as to what I haven't done ?
Cheers,
chris.
