Assisted Navigation on TTGo

Hi, I'm going to buy a TomTom system, can't decide on a PDA or the Go unit. It seems that the Go has the advantage of assisted navigation and I was wondering how effective this really is.

Currently I use a laptop and Infomap Navigator; I had a lot of trouble in Manchester the other day with GPS dropping out due to tall buildings, would the assisted functions of the TTGo have helped much in this situation?

It's pretty effective....no more lost signals whilst going through tunnels.
