compatibility with Sd cards tom tom 300

What a frustracted Hector I am!

I have purchased a 512mb SD card from Total PDA, after getting their assurance that these SD cards would work in the Tom Tom Go 300. When the blank SD card is inserted into the Tomtom I get a picture of an SD card with a red cross on it - I assume this means that the card is not either working or compatable? I have been onto Tom Tom who maintain that only there SD cards will work in the Go 300. Re-contacted Total PDA who once again try to re-assure me that their own guys use these SD cards in their units. Has anyone got any bright ideas, as it is looking as if I have wasted the money on this SD card. Help please!

What a load of rubbish, i have 3 SD Cards (all 512) as well as the one supplied with my TTG 300 and they all work fine. Once again Tomtom is telling porky pies.

Can you attach the GO to the computer with the USB cable? The GO should show up as a new drive letter. With the new SD card inserted in the GO, try to "format" the card (right klick on the drive letter, then "format")

This should help.

Afterwards, copy the complete content of the old card onto the new one.
