Frozen Tom Tom 300

My recently purchased Tom Tom 300 screen has frozen with the two red hands and "Tom Tom" logo showing, also, it will not shut off with the switch! Re-setting and switching on again just brings me back to the above problem!
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you make a backup of the memory card? If so now would be a good time to wipe the card and put the backup onto a fresh memory card incase the card is corrupt.
