Default Tom Tom Go 500 and Mobile phone

Hi all

just got a Tom Tom Go 500 (my first one) and I'm very pleased with the sat nav capabilities - except the maps seem very out of date (my street and area isnt there but the house has been here 10 years!!)
Thats not the main issue though, the mobile phone connection via bluetooth connects ok and I can recieve and make calls, HOWEVER, the quality is soooo poor that I can barely understand the caller and they cant hear me properly at all. Its the main reason I waited for the 500 over the 300.
all volume settings raised and still very poor quality.
Anyone any ideas or are they all like that?

Thanks

Nokia 6680, prob the best phone out there and technologically advanced, I know TT Go 500 doesnt support the SMS/TXT and phonebook of that phone but it does support calls.
tried again today and it was so bad the caller hung up.

I have found similiar problems with the 700 with Nokia 6630 and 6310i and the problem seems to be due to the poor inbuilt mic in the Base cradle.
I have improved mine by using a Nokia mic with the existing plug replaced by a 3.5 mm Mono jack about 50p from maplins and about 15 mins to solder on.
Alternatively you could purchase the TomTom external mic which really does do the job well.
