Talking TTG500 Bluetooth connection

Hi. I have just armed myself with a ttg500 mainly for the bluetooth function. However I cannot pair it with my phone - it somehow disconnects. I have a Samsung E720. Tom Tom finds the phone and displays it but that's as far as it goes. Nor can I set up wireless connectivity.
Would anyone be able to help please? Or do I have to go out and get myself a compatable phone?!!!
Thanks in anticipation.

It may be that the phone is not compatible. Here is a list of compatible phone from the tomtom website:

I dont think it is related phone compatibilty because it already detects your phone.
I had hard time connecting my Motorola v330. Now i have it connected and can make and recieve calls but not able to retrieve my phone book on the PDA???? Any thoughts?

elmo,

You said that it disconnects??? So are you able to make calls when it is connected?

I don't think TT GO 500 has the capability to make and recieve calls. It does have the bluetooth feature, but that is just to connect to your phone so that it can recieve data from the internet if you subscribe to the TomTom PLUS services (real time traffic, weather, etc)

As far as i know only the TT GO 700 has the hands free phone capability. You might want to check and make sure. Where are you located?
Here in the US, GO 700 and 300 are the only available options.

I'm in the UK - and here they have marketed the TT500 as being able to make and receive hands free calls. Guess I will have to keep trying!

I have a TT500 in the UK. Fantastic piece of kit (on the whole). It definitely makes/receives HF calls.

I had a problem downloading phone book at first, then I realised it will not download from SIM. All entries have to be in the phone's memory. I had to copy all SIM card entries to the phone, then download to the TT.

I have a different problem in that I have the TT set to retrieve traffic info via GPRS every 20 miutes. Because it can't now get the info (my subscription has ended), it disconnects my phone from the bluetooth connection as well. This means I have to manually reconnect every 20 mins. I can't find out how to cancel my traffic update settings to stop this happening.

Anyone any clues?
