The new application for the TomTom GO is now available for download. The new version includes lots of new features and improvements; you can read about the most important changes on the What’s new in TomTom GO 5 page.
The new application and many of the new features can be used on the TomTom GO, but some features are only available for the new TomTom GO range (GO 300, GO 500, GO 700), for example, using the GO for real-time, on-demand traffic information and weather reports (where available). See the What’s new page for more information.
New maps are also now available and provide advanced information, such as full post code support (in Great Britain and The Netherlands) and phone numbers for points of interest (POIs). New maps can be bought as an accessory for new and existing TomTom GOs on our web site or downloaded directly to your TomTom GO using TomTom PLUS. Existing maps for the TomTom GO can be updated using the upgrade program on the web site.

Is this update meant for me?
We recommend this update if the version number of the application on your TomTom GO is lower than version 5.201.
This update is not suitable for TomTom ONE. A new update will be available on Monday 21 November which is compatible with TomTom ONE.
What's new in 5.201?
- The application has been updated for compatibility with the hardware in the latest versions of the GO.
- The TomTom Setup application now includes an option for backing up the complete contents of your memory card (SD card) or hard disk (GO 700 only).
