Angry WARNING tomtom docking mount

On Monday morning someone decided to break the passenger window on my wife's car and open the glove box and steal the contents of it. Her Gucci sunglass now belong to someone else for a fraction of the price. When the police eventualy (think thats how you spell it) decided to turn up they informed us that because the docking mount was still attached to the window it sends infared signals to scumbags who think you are stupid enough to leave your tom tom in the the glove box. Ok so they did get a nice pair of glasses out of it so all was not a waste of time (for some that is, sorry i mean scum).
So although it was a bit daft to leave sunglasses in the glove box and the docking station stuck to the window we have learn't a big lesson. So the moral of the story is even though your little gadget is tucked up safely indoors make sure your mount is out of sight as well. Now some of you may read this and think to your self what a plonker but how many of you leave your mount stuck to the window because it's a pain in the a##e to keep removeing and then reinstaling everytime you get in and out of the car.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

It goes further, even the circle mark left by the window mount is a signal to those you describe. It's even worth keeping some wipes to clean that bit of window after you have removed it.
It may be a pain but its a cheaper option.

tomtom's are a better option for the thief. Mobile phones are still a very big attraction but the value of tomtom's are very appealling to these scum..

Sorry to hear of your loss, The maggots want shooting between the eyes..

Police round here have been leaving leaflets about reducing car crime. Basically, leave NOTHING on show in the cabin (coats, glasses cases, cases, CD's/tapes, battery packets - ie leave the cabin in 'showroom condition'). Hide your mount, wipe the screen. A pain yes, BUT lot less hastle than dealing with the police who'll only give you a crime ref and not investigate further (even if a spate in the area like round here) and the joys of forking out/loosing your excess on the insurance.

Had my van lock screwdrivered, and it was 100% empty! £500 damage.
