TT GO 700 diagnostic mode?

Help! Just bought a factory-refurbished TT GO 700 and, on first switching it on, it appears to be in a diagnostic mode. I've reset the device, but it still comes on in this mode with no apparent way of exiting. Anyone give me a clue?
