I bought a TomTom GO510 a week ago and having been using it for the past week, then tonight I went to use it again, but it wont turn ON!!
I have tried holding down the power button for a bit as well as just quickly pressing it but it just wont turn on =( I have left it to charge for 2hrs even tho
i knew that it was fully charged anyway.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to get it to work.
Or will I need to return it to the shop that I purchased it from and get a replacement?
Thanks in Advance

| | | Ok, After popping down to my local Halfords, (where I purchased my tomtom), I have managed to get it working again =)
The chap was very helpfull and explained that the TomTom needed to be reset, just like a pc when it hangs.
There is a small reset button on the back of the TomTom where you plug it into the arm/bracket or pc docking station.
If you turn your TomTom over so you are looking at the back of the unit with the memory card located at the top right, and look at the docking interface near the bottom of the unit.
When you look at the docking interface you will see a small row of pins and just infront of that the is a nib of black plastic, if you look closley you will see that on the left hand side of this there is a half circle cut out of it, this is where the reset button/hole is located.
So now you have found that you will need to get yourself a staple (as this is the only thing small enough to get to the reset button!) unbend the staple an press it into the little hole. Then press the power button on the TomTom (you may have to hold it down for a couple of seconds) and hopefully this your TomTom will start up again =).
If not try pressing the reset button again.
I hope this helps anyone else who has had this problem.

| | | Thanks very much solorize, I've been pulling my hair out about this fault for about 2 hours, I have a major drive ahead of me tomorrow and had no clue where to go without my tomtom. I've had mine for about 2months now with no problems until tonight, ultimately I'm very happy with the device apart from the fact there is no troubleshooting section in the manual that probably could have resolved this concern very simply.
Anyway thanks again. clayderman |

| | | Another very grateful Tomtom 510 user Thank you solorize, that link saved me to. Just got my tomtom GO 510 today, used it a while (quite easy if you have a little other GPS experience. I connected it to my PC updated to the latest TomtomHome software, played around a bit and when I disconnected my tomtom .... wha, it died but the screen kept glowing. Your reset your tomtom 510 info was a miracle. This info should have been in the manual. Well, I didn't see it there. Thanks again, I also wouldn't have fount it in a lifetime. Quote: |

| | | TomTom GO 300 I too am having problems trying to load a new map in my machine, a TomTom GO 300.
The Legal Notice comes up and when I press the "I agree button" it goes back to the Tom Tom logo.
I found the product code after hours of searching. Where do I enter this code?
It is not an easy tool to get up and running!
