Help can not connect to computer

HI,

I have a tom tom 700 which I need to connect to my computer to load things onto it. When I plug it into my computer running windows xp, it says detected new device and wizard will search for driver required. I have tried various things but can not get it to appear under my computer as a additional memory location.

I have plugged it into friends computer and it just comes up straight away under my computer as location F: tom tom.
Ican connect cameras and phones etc to the same usb port and are all o.k.
I have tried swapping usb port but same problem.
I have a Dell desktop computer.

Please help

Make sure you connect via a USB 2 port, and this must not be through any USB hub.
