Looking to purchase either the 710 or 910

Obviously there are differences between the 2 versions but would appreciate it if someone could maybe outline the major differences before I purchase...

Thanks for your help

I think www.tomtom.com is going to be your best avenue for all the differences.

http://www.tomtom.com/products/category.php?ID=0&Lid=1

However, for me, I bought the 910 as I like the fact it has a remote control, I also like the fact that it has an internal HDD - giving you an extra 20gb for it as a MP3 player etc (as opposed to a SD card forthe 710).

Also, I think the cost difference between them is only £50 or thereabouts so, if the money's not the issue then I would go for it.

Finally, and for this was the clincher, I really like the way the 910 can give you text-to-speech instructions - i.e. to plagarise TT's website:

"The TomTom GO 910 features text-to-speech, which means that it can announce street and place names and even read out SMS messages."

This is great! Telling you turn left in 100 yards is fine - but telling you to turn left into Church Lane in 100 yrds is far better. (especially as sometimes the tomtom is not totally accurate if there's many roads in a small area).

Good luck and hope this helps

(go 910 !! )
