Persuading TomTom to re-connect to 'phone

I've noticed a rather annoying behaviour since I subscribed to Traffic.

When TT wants to check traffic state, it disconnects the BT to the cellphone so it can use the data channel. Unfortunately it then fails to restore the connection.

Thus, when calls come in, more often than not the TT is not listening.

Is there any way to correct this behaviour? Phone is a Sony Ericsson K750i
