Default Formatting New Card

Hi All

I have a GO-510 and have just replaced the original SD card with a new 1gb due to lack of space. I have copied over my backup to the new card and have also installed the new UK map, deleting the old map afterwards.

The only thing I have found since using the new card is that loading/shutting down is a lot slower than when using the original card.

I formatted the new card using FAT32 would this cause the slowness. i.e. should format have been FAT16. Or is it down to the larger size card?

It's down to the read speed of the card.

What card (brand/size etc) did you buy, and what read speed is it?

Using an Integral 1gb card have also tried a Sandisk Ultra II but did not appear to make much difference. Have since reformatted card as just FAT and it appears to be a bit quicker.

Hi, How did you copy the files onto the new card?
I bought a 2gb card and tried copying from the original card via tomtom home. Then I copied it to my HD then onto the card. Both times the new card won't work. I always get a warning saying map needs activating. I used the activation code on www.tt.com and it won't accept the code.

Can anybody help me out?

Use the TomTom clearflash tool from their support website.
