Unhappy Faulty GO 700?

Does anyone have any advice?

I've just bought a refurbished Go 700, but as yet have not been able to pick up any satallite signal. I have not yet been able to pick up a satellite signal at all. When first turned on, the GPS status screen shows that it has registered (but not locked onto) some satellites, but after a short time (no more than 2 minuets) the UTC clock in the corner freezes and then it shows no further activity.

App: 6.520 (7690/061002)

O S: 1387

GPS: v1.21

Boot: 4.86

Map: ‘Western_Europe-Map’ v606.0

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Where are you trying to get a GPS lock?

Best to test it fully, is go outside under a clear sky (no obstructions rather than good weather). You should get a lock in a matter of minutes, as TomTom devices are pretty quick at getting a lock from cold.

Hi,

I've left it on for hours at a time in various locations including the garden, in both cars, and in the kitchen window (where my old Emtac GPS receiver can lock onto a signal) but the TTG700 has never locked a signal. Once this afternoon it did lock, but if froze at the same time. Have I failed to do something very obvious?

Try using the reset button, but if not sounds faulty. Return it to the seller for exchange.
