TomTom Mobile (first version) No Euro Maps WIll Be Released

Anyone know if there is anywhere I can buy the maps for France from? I've got the full Mobile 5 UK package & want to add France. TomTom have been promising them for over a year but are they available elsewhere?

TomTom say that the Euro maps will be available from the end of this month PAU406, i will call tomtom just now for an update for you.

Humm, end of the moneth will - of course - be just too late. Be interested in any response from TomTom because I've never had any success in getting a planned date from them let alone a price indication.

TomTom say that they will not be bringing out any euro maps for tomtom mobile it only has the map that you got with it.

That's a real blow - and contary to what they have said to me in answers to my previous questions. It also contradicts what they say on their support site in answer to the question 'Can I Install other maps on my memeory card' where it specifically mentions accessory maps on additional cards. No wonder they get pirated so much! We can't even buy the product they have promised us! Still it wouldn't be the first time their customer 'service' has been utterly wrong in my experience.

Yeah i found it strange also when they said that, they say its somthing to do with the sim card but i dont understand that.

So are they saying I can't buy Mobile 5 for France and use it in my phone? That would seem to be the implication if it is anything to do with the SIM Card.

I think they are only supplying the map of the country where you purchased, ie if you bought in holand you would get map of holand and if you bought in france you would only get map of france.

I bought a 1gb MMC card from ebay and copied my 256mb MMC to that card , I then copied the France Map onto the MMC card and simly activate the map if I need it within Tom Tom.

I have a nokia 6600.

I have also a 1Gb card and have copied the TomTom Scandinavia ... but I would like to add Germany - where can I buy this map only ?
