Angry tom tom mobile 5 'no maps found' problem please help!!

Hello there

Anyone who can help me I am open to suggestions...

Have just bought tom tom mobile 5 for my nokia 6600. Installed the software from a cd to the memory card fine.. the software installation guide does say that if it doesnt work to install the maps to the root folder of the memory card. I have done this but still no success! Getting frustrated with it as all the reviews say its brilliant but im not quite there.

Have you created a folder called - Great_Britain Navigator Map on your memory card and placed all the files in this folder. It worked for me, same problem.

hmmm... thanks for the advice was hoping that was the answer but dont think it was... tried creating a folder under that name. could you clear something up for me, do you actually download the maps or are they supposed to appear? I can see the names of all the places (i.e. argos, asda.. and so on) but it just doesnt recognise them when i load the programme, have tried reinstalling it and no joy!! bummer!

Just so I have it clear, the folder " Great_Britain Navigator Map" contains all your POI files such as asda.bmp and asda.ov2 and map files such as cline.dat cname.dat Great_Britain.pna etc?

You don't need to download the maps they will be recognised from the folder.

When you use setup from CD1 maps, are you copying them to the device or to other location ? say to a folder on your pc them copying the contents over into
"Great_Britain Navigator Map" on your card?

Hope this helps.

Hi Lanky,

I'm a bit unclear about the solution. You said in one post that the folder name didn't work, then in the next you said "bit funny not liking that folder name".
So what did you do differently, with the same folder name?

i have been suffering with "no maps found" and I have done everything suggested. I have also done a hard reset and re installed from scratch all to no avail. I the tried with a different SD card and it is all back up and running. I think the SD card must have gone faulty. All the files are on it but for some reason TomTom can't see them.
