Default Tomtom 5 - Changing Phones.

Hi ALL,

Finally went out and brought TomTom 5 Mobile for my Nokia 7610, costing me £172. I now realise that my phone contract is up in 4 months and i would to upgrade to the Nokia N70, which means my device code will change and TomTom will not work, will customer services allow me to change my device code for the new phone? or will i have to sell Tomtom with my phone on ebay when i up grade and re-buy the kit all over again?

Thanks for any advice in advance..

Hi Moopy
I too had a 7610, using TomTom mobile and it worked perfectly well...then I upgraded to a N70, which was a big mistake. The N70 is not 100% compatible with TomTom Mobile and is prone to constant loss of GPS signal which has made it impossible to use. I have tried various methods to get it working, but it is well known that there is a bluetooth problem here. I am now selling my N70 and going back to the 7610 which is a great phone....hope this helps

I actually brought the N70 and have not had a problem with it ! Actually runs faster than my old 7610 which can be slow at calculating long routes. Also updated the software to 5.202 !

Works a treat ! Not sure what your problem was? Are you using Tomtom MKII receiver?!?

Also removing any 3rd party POI's will help with preventing tomtom from crashing on the N70. If that still fails try turning off POI and updating your phone firmware.
