i cant really use tomtom though. its so slow that i cant even access the menu.

all i did was copy accross the folders from my original tomtom MMC and paste them onto my new RSMMC (apart from the images and photos folder etc)

is this the correct way to do it?

yes thats the correct way to do it just might take a bit longer to boot on rsmmc just wait for it to boot up fully then go into change preferences and then manage poi's then select the enable /disable tab and uncheck all the poi's if you have speedcameras on it will still warn you if unchecked

1-: turn phone on
2-: click menu key
3-: click on tomtom icon in menu let tomtom boot up
4-:clickon top left key on phone (the key above the number 1)
5-:scroll down to change preferences
6-: click on manage poi's
7-: click on enable/disable poi
8-: just uncheck all

if still not working then i think you may have missed something out when transferring data from card to card

Hold down the Symbian button (Menu) and check to see if you have any other applications running. Close everything down, especially virus killers.

You're doing better than I am mate. I've installed TomTom mobile on the 6260 to find 'No maps found'. I've considered copying them from the PDA, but I'm waiting for my 1GB RS-MMC to arrive.

Does anyone know whether this will work, or where I can get my hands on the UK map? Cheers.

I had the same problem when i first installed the tom tom software on my 6680. I found a way out by using my digital camera to transfer the software files from the first mmc card of 64 MB to 1Gb card. I had to copy the files to the computer first, change the card in the camera and write the data to the new card. copying the data to the phone direct did not work for me. When running the software it is best not to run any other applications because the tom tom is demanding a lot of ram in the phone. If the application does not load from the menu, I usually cure this hickup by taking the MMC out and reinserting it. I hope this helps, Reiner.

Default TomTom

Hi

Just bought a second-hand Nokia 6680. It came with TomTom installed on the RS-MMC card. How can I find-out what version of TomTom I have so I can get new maps?

There is a file called "TomTom MOBILE.exe" in "E:\TomTom". It is dated 18/11/05 16:34:06. Does this help?

Regards

Patrick
