Default Activation question

Hi

Yes still here trying to get my TT6 running!

So having restored my PDA and reinstalled TT6 i could see gps but the whole TT set-up was unstable - kept hanging, route planner always gave errors etc.

So i decided to upgrade my PDA to WM6.

Now it wont let me activate my TT6 as it seems to recognise it as a new device - even though it is the same PDA.

Any idea what I should do next? Will TT6 likely show some discretion over this situation - i hope so as I have now been trying to wrestle with this for weeks and I have a genuine copy of tt6.

Thanks David

TT allows re-activation initially after 7 days and then every six months. From what I've read they are pretty rigid on this.

Yes I phoned them today. More problematic is that the their licence only permits 3 activations ever and I am up to that limit.

When I argued that I havent changed device on the last activation but have upgraded it from WM from 5 to 6 and that I hadnt changed device.

They claim that TT6 is only spec'd to work on WM6 and that their documentation is clear on this - well I have looked through all the contents of the box and at their website and I cant see where it says this. given I have been (without success) trying to run TT6 on WM5 for the past 3 weeks and searching all over the web I would have thought I would have come across this.

Anyone any views on this? otherwise I may have to bin it which I shall be less than happy with!

David

TT6 has been around a lot longer than WM6.

Utter BS from them, which is pretty poor. Seems they have no time for PDA/Mobile users any more. Buy a GO however, and they'd bend over backwards it seems these days.

In fact when i rec'd the email follow up to my call it didnt mention WM6.

Rather it said that under the EULA it cant be transferred from one device to another. I had argued that I managed to activate on WM5 and that I hadnt changed the device so was looking for them to allow me to reactivate it once more.

Am really keen to get a working TT6 on my PDA but equally dont want to throw more money after bad!

Any advice from anyone?

Thanks

The device code is a hash up of the processor serial number and the OS.

Technically TomTom *could* decipher the device ID and prove it is the same device.

If they're still not interested in supporting your device, check out iGO8 for future reference. I've found it far superior to TT.

NavNGo Products at Low Prices from EasyDevices - easydevices.co.uk have them in stock at £124.54. If you have any questions about iGO let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.
