Default tomtom spvm700 bluetooth on car radio

I wonder if you can help me?
I have tomtom 6 running on my orange spvm700.

I also have a jabra bluetooth visor speaker hands free thingy.
I know i cant get tomtom to broadcast to the Jabra but wondered if there are any car stereos etc that have bluetooth that enable me to listen to the radio or CD but hear the directions over the car stereo system?

Dont want much do I?

many thanks in advance

As its a HTC based phone the following has worked for me in the past to route the TT audio via a bluetooth ear piece:

Depending upon which PDA you are using it might be possible to route the TT audio to a bluetooth headset, I have done this in the past and its a simple reg edit to get working, something like changing LaunchAppEnable from a 0 to 1, this is detailed somewhere on the forum, but will depend upon your PDA. If you try the reg edit as detailed above on the phone it should then work with your existing Bluetooth handsfree kit.

Otherwise another bit of hardware to consider is the iO-Play Bluetooth kit for in the car as long as your phone supports the A2DP bluetooth protocol which it should do - Mike

Thanks for the reply
I will have a look on the forum to see if there is any more info on the regedit.
That would be an improvement but what i really want is a system like the traffic alerts where i can listen to the car radio and the tomtom instructions go over the stereo.
Is that possible at all?

Mike,

That is brilliant!
just one final question ( you seem VERY tolerant)
Referring to your first post am I correct in thinking that this will only work if i do the regedit change on the m700 ( its a htc trinity I think)?

I love the idea of getting rid of my visor bluetooth "speaker" and being able to use both my m700 as a sat nav and my (new) htc TD2 as a bluetooth phone!

Thanks again

The reg edit is to get the nav audio through your existing visor kit, if you get an iO-Play module you won't need to do this.

As for getting two devices connected at the same time one has to use HFP (Hands Free Protocol) the other uses the A2DP Stereo Audio over Bluetooth Protocol) you need to be careful when setting up the pairing(s) between the devices, but you should be able to get two phones working this way, pair the m700 to use the A2DP and the newer HTC TC2 to use the HFP connection.

When pairing the devices pair the first one then turn OFF the bluetooth on th edevice before trying to pair the second device, if you have one device connected with the Bluetooth still enabled the iO-Play will not spot the second device, had I known this when I set mine up it would have saved a few hours of frustration! - Mike
