Hi,

I am using TomTom 3. I seem to have it sorted now. It wasn't finding sat's. I set it to Nmena? 4800 and Serial SP2. Seems to be working.

Bit annoying there is no information on what GPS reciever it uses.

Sorted now though. Great piece of kit

Hi
Just received my first PDA - I have Mitac 168 with Route 66 navigation.

What are the first steps to setting up GPS for navigation? The manual does not hardly mention GPS and I haven't a clue where to start. Sure I'll be OK once kicked off!

Cheers in advance.

captind vbmenu_register("postmenu_4251", true);

Captind.....THANKS THE WORLD OVER and OVER and OVER for that post on gps receiver/settings.
I have been using the Marco Polo Navigation software that came with my Yakumo Delta 300 GPS pda (top class machine, may i add), it has been operating reasonably, but nothing like the functions/options etc of the TOMTOM 3.
I installed the TomTom 3 om the memory card after deleting the Marco Polo and just couldn't get it to locate a satellite?? There is no info on the Yakumo pda about the GPS (integrated gps) receiver its using. Emailed the Yakumo website, THEY SEEM TO HAVE ABONDONED THE SHIP!!!! Didn't even get a reply, shame really, cos they have a unit that plays mp3's,videos,jpegs/slideshows THE BIZ...and all the general necessaties ( spelling? )
I just now put in the Nmena 4800 for the gps and on Serial SP2 and then......ITS CHRISTMAS come abit early!!!

I would like to add, these forums are wonderful and FULL marks to www.totalpda.co.uk for info to be available to the part timers..

THANKS AGAIN
