Default Tom Tom 2.24 not linking GPS

Hi
Can anyone help solve a problem with Tom Tom 2.24 on an ipaq 3850 with a hard wired Rikaline GPS unit. Every thing was working ok untill I changed over to a mobile Haicom unit, then when I changed back to my car the GPS registers fine but Tom Tom Navigator says that the GPS is unreliable and will not calculate a route. The screen just stays blank with the direction arrow shown. The maps displays ok, the GPS shows seven satellites and displays northings, eastings and speed but when I change to the route I get zilch. If I calculate the route using home it displays the route ok untill I dock the GPS. I have re installed the software more times than I have had hot dinners and have soft reset, hard reset and begged and prayed to the PDA as many times. When I try Tom Tom phone help it keeps telling me that the queue is to long (i'm not surprised). Is there any hidden files lurking in the PDA that are not deleted on a reset that could be causing this, any help would be greatly appreciated before my well loved PDA goes in the bin.

Welcome to our forums.
There should be no files left on the PDA after a hard reset unless you have stored any program files in the iPAQ File Store or on the memory. Are you installing 2.24 straight from the TomTom CD?

There is nothing stored in the file store and I have formatted the SD card just to be sure. I am installing from the CD and doing a clean install every time and setting up a new partnership in active sync in case anything is being replaced thats why I'm so puzzled.
Thanks for the speedy reply

Very strange, after you install TomTom and get it activated etc go onto their site and get the latest update for Navigator2 and try that. All I can think of I'm afraid.
