Default T3 Tom Tom update to 4.40

I have downloaded the update file for ver 4.40 and tried to install it several times. I keep getting the following error messages in the log file

"ERROR - Application TomTom Navigator (navigator.cab) - Cannot find suitable Memory Card. Map requires 3MB free disk space on Memory Card
- Installed file: C:\Program Files\Palm\Stephe\Install\start.prc
OK Install
OK Install To Card
HotSync Error: Unknown error. (F794)"

The memory card application tells me that there is only 1.5mb free on the card.

Any one know what I am doing wrong, is there a patch from Palm that I have missed? I have installed most of the fixes I can find at the Palm website.

Cheers

At a quick guess, I would say that there isn't enough room on your memory card. You need to either free some space on it, or buy another card.

The card was supplied by Tom Tom preloaded. From what I can gather the card should be overwritten with the new software. I have not added any files myself.

You will need to use the option on the TomTom CD to remove the foreign voice files from the card as there are all on it by default.

I have looked and can not find the option to remove voice prompts, only to add new ones.

Do you have a card reader you can use to access the TomTom SD card on your PC?

EDIT : just noticed your new thread so have deleted it and will answer in here.
When browsing the card go into the TomTom folder and you will see a list of .chk files. These are the voice files....back them all up onto your PC then delete all but the data04 or data05 (one of these is the english one but I can't remember which one and I don't have a Palm version handy at the moment) and that should free up enough memory.
