Default tom tom help

Hi all new user and total pda/gps novice here. I have bought my wife the mitac mio 168 integrated gps pda and tom tom navigator 3 package. I havent set it up yet and this will ahve to wait until after xmas. The set up seems pretty straightforward though (although any tips for a novice would be much appreciated). I am thinking of GPSing my own car too and have bought a dell x5. Can I purchase a GPS reciever to go with this and just use my copy of Tom tom again on my new PDA? Any recommendations on a cheap receiver? Also will having two PDAs and only one pc and copy of tom tom cause any problems with active sync??? any help for a computing moron much appreciated

Welcome to our forums.
You shouldbe able to register the same copy on DELL as TomTom allows you to register once then again for a second unit after 7 days. Be aware though that if you were to change your PDA you would need to wait 6 months to be able to register again. There are loads of receivers around but I'd recommend an official TomTom model and car TomTom car kit which will reduce the need for any adapters or converters. Having two PDAs on the one PC can cause problems but you can change the name of the PDAs (it's Pocket_PC by default) which will enable them both to use the same PC without any problems.
