Default Ipaq 1710 HP Navigation Pack & POI

Hi,

Just a quick question. I have ordered the HP Navigation Pack and through looking at various sites have realised you cannot use third party software with it like Checkpoint. This is fine but I just wanted to check it does have some POI functionality, so that i can upload some databases into Tomtom and have warnings for incoming speed cameras.

Thanks

Alex

You can, its that hard to do. Simple copy over the ov2 files that you have download (these hold the coordinates of your POI) and activate them in maintain POI.

is there a better product for doing this? I feel I may have rushed into the purchase. Would the Tom Tom Go work better with regards to POI's or does it have the same level of functionality the Navigation pack has?

Essentially they both do it the same way.
Obviously the 1710 offers more features than just a nav system though so in my opinion is better value for money..

Oh, maybe not such a bad choice then. I was wondering if there are any downsides to the pack apart from the flaws in Tom Tom maps, I am yet to see any reviews of the pack and this makes me kind of nervous.

Thanks alot for all your replies its been very helpful.

The 1710 kit basically looks and operates the same as the TTGO and Palm versions, the lack of reviews maybe due to the recent release but I haven't heard any negative reviews.

Bought the TomTom Navigation System with Hp iPAQ 1710 but when I try to copy over the ukpostcode.dat file i get the message not enought free space. What am I doing wrong?
I also read somewhere to remove other language files where are they and what are the file types?

I don't think you can free enough room for the ukpstcode program unless you buy a larger SD card.
