Default HP1710 Tom Tom Bundle, Queries / problems, HELP please.

I have just bought a HP170 tom tom bundle and am very happy from some points of view, namely the routing re-routing and the map display.

I have a couple of queries that I wanted to know what the deal is from other Tom Tom users so here goes...
  1. My street is not on the Maps, it is a new (ish) estate but my house was one of the last to be built over two years ago now and I would expect Tom tom to be up to date.
  2. Postcode entry seems to stop at the 5th Char, ie GL52 8 and you can't enter any more, you then have to choose a street, which seems dumb if you have a full postcode.
  3. You can enter a town, say Cheltenham, then on the street input I typed Gloucester road (in cheltenham) and it offers you a load of different ones that are not actually IN cheltenham and the only way to tell which one to pick is by the postcode it displays when you hold your finger down on one of the choices. If you are trying to get somewhere and don't know the postcode this could right royally screw you over me thinks
I eagerly await any feedback, as I may have to send it back if these problems are not surmountable.

Thanks
Xenoilth

Welcome to our forums.
1) It can take and average of 18 months for new address to be added to the database, in some cases it can be quite a bit longer...it just depends if they are mapping your area in time for the data to be updated.
2) It's actually a 4 digit postcode search. You will need the remainder of the adress.
3) I don't know the reason for this but I am aware that it happens.

For further clarification on any of those issues you can speak with TomTom on 0845 161 0009.
