Tom Tom 3 with Holux GPS Slow

Hi guys and girls please bear with me as this is my first jump into gps nav. I have just purchased (second hand) a ipaq 3360 (upgraded with latest rom from ipaq site) with memplug dual cf jacket and Holux Gps CF receiver.

I have two problems when trying to upgrade the tom tom version to 3.03 it seems to loose my maps (I can only get tt to work by reverting to 3.01).

When opening it seems incredibly slow - takes up to 45 seconds to load up - is this normal (thats without a fix just the tom tom operating system)

Any help would be appreciated.

What specification is the H3360? I can't find anything on it.
Try the v3.07 update and see if it's the same.
