Unhappy Greyed out gps screen

Hi
I had a problem ,with my pda and had to reset info.
So I reinstalled tomtom (it didnot ask for any reactivation codes, is this right )
Then I formatted memory card , and reinstalled maps on that.
Everything is there, ive got a red light constant from the gps reciever in the car, but the pda doesnot even look to try and connect. (i,e the gps page is greyed out) pda says unreliable signal.!

Tom tom say on web to activate codes on pda touch screen , but where is that page ???, and once activated is that not done forever.

Please help.

David

Presuming you are running Pocket pc and have bluetooth ( you dont say in your post) you have to get the blue light on somtime a bit hit and miss on the reciever. Then you have to establish a partnership with your PDA. I do this on mine via the little icon bottom right which pops up with "Turn on bluetooth" & "Bluetooth Manager" & "Bluetooth Settings" Goto the Manager and follow promts. Your greyed out GPS screen will only show anything when you have gained a partership i.e Connection with the reciever. I am pretty new to this but had to sort it out and got there this way. I hope this is of some help....Good luck let us know how you get on.
