Default Tomtom.. Bluetooth ot not?

Hi,

I am just about to buy a HP 2110 with Tomtom navigator software - Originally I was planning to get the bluetooth GPS reciever... but I have heard that it often looses the signal... my question is - who reliable are they & are any makes / models of bluetooth GPS reciever significantly better than any others?

Thanks

Welcome to our forums.
To be honest I've never had problems with my receiver dropping connections and I've had a few. They all work pretty much the same.

I've not had any problems either with my BT one. It's very subjective but FWIW I prefer the bluetooth one.

I was discussing the TomTom B.T with another guy today and he had the same problem as I did. Basically in london it loses signal due to the high buildings and sends you round and round in circles..

In Kensington last week the ONLY way I could get a signal was to stick it on the roof ...!!

Also another MAJOR drawback is that it only lasts 3-4 hours without charge.

Therefore I would go for a roof mounted if you are in a high rise area...

cheers

You can get receivers designed for external use which you could use of the roof. In my opinion any receiver will struggle to get a signal in really built up high rise areas as they can't receive signals through buildings.
The average battery time for the TomTom receiver should be around 6 - 7 hours in ideal conditions.
