I get exactly the same problem. After loads of hassle I sent the discs back to my vendor, then got it loaded. I have just needed to reset my PDA/GPS device and the same thing has happened again. Your dispute is with the vendor butthe problem is with the software - this is a personal opinion. I think it is a clumsy attempt to prevent multiple useage so if you opt out of things like register online or abort the process once, the whole thing will not work. I have wasted several working days from this and poor service from the vendor/reseller (a company not an induvidial). And wasted £400 odd into the bargain.

it is a common issue with tomtom, most of the time a simple reset will allow the application to be installed. Press the small hole of the left hand side of the PDA.

Hi Steven
Thanks for the suggestion but a reset was why I had to re-install TomTom...

Not a clue: switch on the back of the machine rather than the end-of-a-paperclip socket on the side (Mio intergrated GPS unit): the easier to get at of the two reset switches: surely therefore the less drastic - whatever it did it got rid of TomTom

Thats a hard reset. There should be a hole in the left side of the MIO, thats a soft reset.

the soft reset is just like rebooting your PC, any files you have unsaved will be lost but the rest of the information will be stored. A hard reset is normally the last resort if you have a problem with the PDA, it will remove everything from the PDA and put back to factory defaults (only the Operating System will be left).
