Angry TTN3 doesn't recognise HI303E GPS

Have just got HP HX2100 series PDA and TTN3 with Haicom HI-303E CF receiver, travelled 72 miles and had to reset everything 17 times!!!!, TTN3 says gps position unreliable all the time even though the gps is working, TTN3 starts working then after about 20 seconds it packs up again, anyone had this problem and found any fixes? one more reset and its going to be worth the £475 I paid to see it bouncing down the M62 after I throw it out the window. Sat Nav!!!! give me £475 of paper maps instead!!!

Default

There were no programs running apart from nav, com port - not sure could be 1 or 4 as the supplied gps info program insists on setting it to com1 a serial port but nav/pda require com4 listed as a generic cf card gps, the test program supplied with the gps/pda doesn't actaully work on the pda as it runs win mobile 2003 but the gps info program appears to work somewhat, using gps info I can see the data stream being received from the sat but navigator still says gps position unreliable (8 sats were being tracked at the time!!!)
