Two quick questions

I'm ready to purchase TomTom3 tomorrow, two questions remain:-

1. Is an amplified PDA holder essential ? I'm using a Dell Axim X5. I downloaded some wav sound files from checkpoint POI and they don't sound too clear, are the TomTom ones any better.

2. If I buy it tomorrow & they bring out TomTom5 in a week or two is there normally an upgrade route & how much does it normally cost.

1) I don't use an amplified mount with my iPAQ 4150 as I find it loud and clear enough but you may prefer one.
2) There is normally an upgrade path although at this time we are unsure of what it will involve.
