Default Web connection pop ups

I have just started using an HP 2410 PDA with Tom Tom Navigator and despite some problems setting up (for which there was next to no help from Tom Tom or anyone else!) I got it going eventually and am pleased with it so far. I don't use the internet function of the PDA yet but keep getting connection pop ups which are becoming annoying. Is there any way to stop them????
