| | TomTom2 bluetooth problem Hi,
I experienced during a few days iPaq2210+TomTom2 Bluetooth without problem but Bluetooth stopped to work on TomTom2. When I put TomTom on by pushing the on button 1 second, I've just 1 blue blink then nothing. If I push the on button longer, I've only a permanent green light but no bluetooth blink. I tried unssuccessfully to reset bluetooth software by draining TomTom battery and then charging it as TomTom explained in it's website support.
Thank you for your help |

| | I have a similar problems with TT2 Bluetooth and HP2210. I always seem to have to reset each time I use it and it always locks up if I try to switch on Navigator, to say plan a route and time, without the Bluetooth on at that time. Any ideas?? |

| | My TomTom Wireless GPS has worked just fine for a couple of months, but today I got the same problem. The bluetooth connection came back for about 15 seconds but now it seems completely dead. Of course, tomorrow is the first day I really need my navigator... |

| | Bought TomTom Bluetooth GPS in Jan 2004, Failed Apr 2004 after approx 2 dozen uses. Failed whilst in use not whilst charging. Constant green light, and no blue light. Wasn't aware of these issues until I had bought it so treated my GPS unit with kid gloves. Never charged it for more than 2hrs and always let it go flat before recharging it so as to be sure to not overcharge. Always used indoors charger and kept a beady eye on it to turn off charger once unit fully charged.
First problem noticed was in the charging. Unit used to display a green light to indicate charging, then red light when fully charged. Now displays red light when charging, then no light when fully charged. Despite this unit continued to work.
Next problem was the on/off. By holding down the button for 4secs the unit used to show the green light after the 4secs, then release the button and it turns off. It now shows a green light whilst holding down the button, then no light after 4secs, regardless of whether you release the button or not. Unit still continued to work.
Then a few weeks later it failed. Was on holiday and it had been working fine the first couple of trips. Then when switched it on for the 3rd trip and just got a constant green light and no flashing blue light.
Phoned www.totalpda.co.uk for support, they recommended letting it go completely flat for 1wk, then do a full charge for 2hrs, said it would kick it back into touch. It didn't. Told me to send it back to TomTom. Spent ages searching through TomTom website for this problem - NOTHING - seems they want to keep very quiet about it. Couldn't even find a contact phone number and their email address links just take to the FAQ pages - which doesn't address the problem - now that stinks. Phoned TotalPDA and they put me through to TomTom(!). This looks like the only way to contact them - TomTom will not respond to any of their email addresses that they email you with. On the phone TomTom said go to repair.tomtom.com and take it from there. Asked if this was a repair or a replacement (if repair I believe you lose your rights to a refund) they said just use that repair website and it will be replaced, also agreed another 2yr warranty would be on the replacement unit (I wonder how much truth there is in that). Looks like I don't have any choice. So unit has been sent back, via DHL at TomTom's expense, and I await to hear from them.
Deeply wishing I had got the IPAQ2210 instead so that I could use a hard wired GPS unit. Don't know if I'll get this rumoured fixed 'V2' unit but don't hold out much hope.
Oh and I missed out on the free upgrade to V3 by one day.
This is no way to treat your customers TomTom - we deserve better. Mart
