Default TomTom 5 setup problems

If you are having problems with tomtom navigator 5 connecting to your Bluetooth GPS then follow the guide below:

1) Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your PDA and the GPS is turned on.
2) On the PDA go through the bluetooth manager and setup the GPS device, and then add to your paired devices.

Follow the guide CLICK ME (TomTom Navigator + Bluetooth GPS Receiver)

Click on tomtom navigator
Tap on the screen and select Change Preferences (big spanner)
tap the black triangle until it says Preferences 4 of 6
Select Configure
This is the stupid part Select "other cable NMEA GPS" yeah thats right CABLED
GPS Baud Rate 4800 and select DONE
Select the correct bluetooth port, if you cannot see the number tap and hold and then you will see what number.

You will notice a small orange and black circle at the top right this will start to spin if you are connected to the GPS if it does not spin then soft reset the PDA and try again.

Edited due to customer feedback

if it still fails and you are going from 3-5 then try below.

Process:
- uninstall Nav 5
- Reinstall Nav 3
- Install 3.07 patch (if not already installed as above)
- Remove TomTom Navigator ONLY from the remove programs list.
- Reinstall Nav 5
- Run Navigator, go to GPS setup and, for me at least, use tomtom bluetooth selection.

Welcome to our forums.
If the circle is spinning then your receiver is configured for use with TT5 although you may not be picking up any satellites if you are indoors or are in a vehicle that has an athermically coated windscree.

All, I also have the same problem, I have an iPaq 2210 with a GPSlim 256 GPS. I have tried several baud rates but always get the spinning circle but with the text 'No GPS Device!' in the top left corner of the screen. My GPS has definately got a signal as it has its own GPS Testing software which shows a good lock and there is also a light on the device itself which shows if it has a lock or not.

As with the other guys this is not an issue with TT3 which picks up the GPS instantly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Mark
