Is it worth buying tomtom 3 wired?

Ive been waiting ages for tomtom 5 wired version and there's still no sign of it coming out. so would it be worth buying tomtom3 wired for around 130 pounds and then using the upgrade route or carry on waiting for possibly months till they decide to ship tomtom 5 wired to retailers.
