Default Palm T3 and Navigator 5

Hello

I'm having a mare with my new (not upgraded) version of Navigator 5 BT. I've got the GPS working, it appears to get a satellite fix from the flashing green light, and paired it with the Palm. I've put the card into the Palm and Navigator is now available as an option. I can set the software running, it takes me through a few preferences, and then I reach a screen which tells me there are no maps available. I can either cancel, which dumps me out of the software, or opt to download a map. If I do this I can log on to my Tom Tom account via my mobile, where I get the option of choosing a map from various countries and then once I've chosen one I have to enter a city. I've given up after this because I haven't been given any device code, it's taken ages, and it doesn't feel right. I can't get to any options screens within the software and I can't register the package on the Tom Tom website because I don't have the device code and I'm getting a bit grumpy.

I'm not particularly techie, so excuse me if this sounds stupid, but I was expecting to have to do some sort of hotsync between the Palm and my PC once the card was installed. However, when I run the CD it tells me setup is starting - an then gives me a rather unhelpful menu, none of which are related to installing Navigator.

In summary, I'm completely at sea... Help?

Thanks.

I have the same problem see message above yours. Where did you buy yours from? I got mine from PDA Mods and I am wondering if it is a faulty SD card as it appears it works on my IPaq

Question

I have the same problem see message above yours. Where did you buy yours from? I got mine from PDA Mods and I am wondering if it is the wrong version SD card as it appears it works on my IPaq or at least it finds the maps. I do not want to activate it on my Ipaq as I wish to use my palm!

hmm strange 1, can you do a hard reset on the Palm to restore to factory defaults then insert the card again?

Unhappy

It appears to be a file structure problem similar to what the people who have upgraded to V5 have suffered. Alot of people say there structure has a file called tomtom Great_britain-Maps whereas mine just says Great_britain-Maps. I have tried changing the name but to no avail. Does anybody know if the files internal to this file has to be altered also? Most people just resynced the SD card but with the full version it comes on an SD card and no backup discs to rebuild the SD card.

I've tried a hard reset but to no avail - same problem as before... Tom Tom technical support have been utterly useless - their response was that Tom Tom Plus is not available yet!

Sorry if this is dim, but how do I sync the SD card?

Found simongorman's post under the link below, and following his instructions fixed my problems. Only thing I did differently was to format another SD card instead of the Tom Tom one because I wasn't brave enough to work directly on the Tom Tom card.

Hope this works for other people with similar issues!
