Default Navigator 5 POI problems

Hi

I've just got TomTom 5 for my also new iPAQ hx4700. I've already upgraded the ipaq to the latest version. The problem i'm having is that when i'm navigating and I try to search for a POI like a petrol station, the program quits, i.e it goes back to windows. It works fine for the hotel POI's and brings up local places, but petrol stations, garages, restaurants just kick me out to windows, and I have to reload navigator. The POI's show up on the moving map ok so I know there in the database, but why wont it list them for me to navigate to?, like I said the hotels/motels work just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Andy

I am having a problem where under some POI headings it says "NO POI" and on others it brings a whole list, any ideas why?

very strange there is a known issue with some of the 4700's but that problem is related to the unit hanging. I will try and speak to tomtom and see what they say.

I've got round this problem, sort of. Basically, I renamed the TomTom POI file so that it couldn't find it. Now when I go into POI's in TomTom, it brings up a list of manually uploaded POI's like the Gatso ones and a Petrol Station one I downloaded. The only downside is that it doesnt have the nice icons, and TBH I dont really need to navigate to a gatso lol, but the petrol station works just fine. Cant believe how buggy this software is, how on earth they could have released this like it is I dont know.

Stevie, What's the known problem with 4700s hanging, this is the exact problem that I'm having, I've logged faults and tried to ring TomTom but I've had nothing back (exempt an automated reply saying check the FAQs!). Can you give me any info or a URL for some more info on this problem

All I can see is that over a period of time tt5 uses up ALL the memory on the organiser and then crashes (is this the known bug)

Hope you can help

Trev

My 4700 keeps freezing with Tomtom5, it was fine before.
When it does I notice a small box somewhere on the screen like a bad POI pic.
I wonder if it's a related problem with POIs, I will turn them all off until I hear of a
fix and see if it helps.

Same issue here on 4700. As soon as I select any POI other than the those selected as default, the program crashes if I enter map mode. Bummer.

Rename the POI file to something like POI.bak. It's in the tomtom directory.
