ipaq 1715 & tom tom 5 signal problems

Hi, I recently bought an ipac 1715 with tom tom 5 (wired), supposedly "plug-in and go". Unfortunately I have a permanent "no gps signal" message. I've configured the receiver as a non-tom tom type at 4800 baud. Can anyone help?

Is it a TomTom brand receiver you have with the kit? if so then it should be selected in Configure GPS.
