Thumbs up Acer N35 Help!! Tom Tom 5

Hi there

Please can someone help, I have today installed tom tom navigator 5 onto my pda however it does not seem to work and all it says is waiting for a valid GPS signal, I am not sure why. I have set it up to the best of my knowledge, this unit has a built in GPS receiver.

Please help if you can...

thank you

Welcome to our forums.
Are you trying it outside? Which PDA is it you have that has the GPS built in?

I'm not sure that the N35 is compatible with TT5...it's not listed on their site. What settings did you select in Configure GPS?

It may work but if it's locking up then there are certainly issues with it. What settings have you selected in Configure GPS?

I am using the on board (NMEA GPS) and a GPS baud rate of 57600 but it keeps locking up and freezing my pda.....

Hi there, you should be set to NMEA with a board rate of 4800 and Serial Cable SP2. Hope this helps.

Hi

Likewise I am using a Acer n35, and I use the settings as follows

NMEA then select baud rate of 57600

click on done

then click on "gps on navigator"

You will need to sit the PDA still in its cradle if in car for a few minutes for it to lock on to the signal's at which point your grey bars should turn to blue ones

Hope this helps
