Default TomTom 5 Problems

Hi all,

Ive installed tomtom navigator 5 on my ipaq rx3715 which was working fine. About half way into my first journey the program exited back to the pda default screen. Now it keeps happening. I have removed it and reinstalled it but this hasnt resolved the problem. It just keeps exiting back to the pda screen.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Welcome to our forums.
I hadn't heard of this before today and now two people have reported the same thing. I'm at a loss to explain why it's happening. Have you read through the TomTom Navigator 5 support FAQ over @ www.tomtom.com?

Thanks for your reply.

Ive had a look through their FAQ's and I cant find anything that would cause this. I have performed a hard reset on my ipaq to see if this would resolve the problem but it hasnt. It was working great up until it shut off, I was made up with it!

The only thing I can suggest at the moment is to try calling them on 0845 161 0009 for advice. Their lines are likely to be closed for this evening but will open again around 9 -10am tomorrow. Alternativley you can register a MyTomTom account on their site which will allow you to email their support team directly.

Thanks again for your reply.

I have not called them yet but I think I have solved the problem. I recopied the files back onto the memory card, hard reset my ipaq and reinstalled the software. It seems to be staying on fine now though I am unable to take it for a test drive at the minute as my car has been clamped. Though it is getting released tonight. I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks :-D

Tap and hold on the screen when the screensaver comes on and you'll get options for it.
