Look out for Sirf 3 based chipsets, these are the next step up in GPS.

Check out the following link, there are several there (including tomtoms) with a short description which should help you to make up your mind!

The ones i would recommend are because they have Sirf3:

TomTom Nav 5
Holux 236
Globalsat BT-338

You will get better signal from the GPS and be able to place the receivers sometimes not in direct line of sight to the sky ie i put the holux in the glove box and it worked.

The Holux 236 looks the best to me! Its small and reading the reviews, Slightly beter then the Global sat.
The Holux 236 will work with Tom Tom 5 i guess?
Cheapest i can find it is £110 on ebay. Thats from a UK seller.
I cant find anywhere else that sells it!?

While your here steve. I have a dead pixel on my Jam

One of them is red. Im assuming its a dead one? What is totals policy on this?

Thanks
Mat

Why do people go for a seperate Bluetooth device and not a powered, all in one receiver, and PDA holder like an Arkon, or have I missed something here ?

I dont drive yet so dont have a place to put a holder..
I will be walking or on my bike so i can put it in my backpack or pocket etc.

As for people with cars. It saves them alot of hassle and time not having to run wires everywhere.

Thanks
Mat
