Question TT5 No GPS Device Error

Hi All,

This is my first post. I have a Mio 168 with a 512 card.

I have just upgrade from TTNav3 to TTNav5......all going well until I try and use it.

I have no GPS signal.

On the ‘GPS Status’ screen it says "no GPS device!

Can anyone help?

I have tried configuring and reinstalling the software, however nothing seems to work

Thanks

Welcome to our forums.
What receiver settings have you selected in CONFIGURE GPS?

Hi Charlie,
I have tried setting the COM PORT to both COM2 and COM1 with a BAUD RATE OF 4800, WITH PROTOCOL NMEA.

This was the previous setting on my old TOM TOM before upgrading. I spent over an hour last night trying all types of different combinations and still nothing

COM2 should be right but the Mitacs not on the compatibility list for TT5 so I cant get any info on it. Have you tried all the different rates?

Hi Charlie, I appreciate your help as this is really frustrating....I'm going to France on Friday and wanted to use the TT.

I have checked on the TT website and it says that the Mitac Mio 168 is compatible. I found this under (Which PDAs are compatible with TomTom Navigator 5?)

Yes I have tried all the different baud rates, however I get no response.

Any other ideas?
