Angry Postcode problem with new SD card

Hello all, I have recently bought TomTom 5 for my HP hx4700 and all was well until I upgraded the SD card. Copied (or so I thought) all the files from original SD card to PC via Microsoft ActiveSync and then back to the the new SD card and found that for some strange reason Activesync does not always copy ALL of the files across. I then sorted this by manually copying the missing files and now everything works with the exception of the postcodes.

With the new SD card when I try to use the postcode finder it gives me the following error message "No usable locations near cursor".

Having looked at some of the related threads I have checked that I have a folder on the new SD card called Tomtom although it is not empty but has a txt file called do_not_remove, a file called DATA.CHK a file called Munich.bin and a file called TOMTOM.AID - As does the original SD card.

I have to agree with many of the comments on this forum - The TomTom support/technical help stinks!

Any help would be grafefully accepted.
Adrian

PS - When I get the above error message there is no way back - I either have to do a soft reset or go to the settings area and stop the Tomtom program.

Here is what I would try:
1. Create a new folder on the SD Card with the name tomtom. This folder needs to be put in the section with the maps (mine is called 'Great_Britain-Map'). The folder should be empty. Once done, start navigator and then the postcodes should work, if not try:
2. Have you tried copying the file 'zip' (thats ehere your postcodes are) onto your PDA's main memory? I believe that is an alternative way to get the postcodes to work or
3. Otherwise, I would re-copy everything with the hope that something has been missed.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestions but I had already tried the first 2 of them before my original posting. I will try recopying all later but it does not make a lot of sense to me to think that ALL of the other functions work with the exception of the post code finder - I would have expected that I would be having other problems if there was file corruption or missing files.

Cheers Adrian.

Finaly got the postcodes to work!!!
Formated the SD card again and copied only the largest file via Microsoft ActiveSync and all the rest to a teporary folder on the PDA and then back to the new SD card.

Only problem now is that I have a blank white stripe across the PDA screen where the TomTom start icon used to be. I suspect that this could be cured by doing a hard reset but having spent many hours getting this to work I am now reluctant to touch it again.

Thanks for the suggestions.
